Job Description

Plymouth Community Church (PCC) is searching for a Lead Pastor with a clear call to ministry and an
ambitious heart for serving God and His church. The Lead Pastor will live and carry out PCC’s vision to
form biblically functioning communities that reach lost people, connect in Christ-centered relationships,
teach truth, serve others, and worship God. He is a servant-leader who finds joy in serving others with
the goal of encouraging them in their walk with Christ. The Lead Pastor is an individual who can lead,
motivate and establish ministry objectives. Working in partnership with the Elders and executing plans
with a heart of service and humility.
We are located on the east edge of Plymouth, Indiana in the heart of Marshall County. A newer
established church with mostly young families that are a congregation of dedicated believers committed
to loving God and growing deeper in faith and wider into the community. PCC thrives in community and
possesses a history that emphasizes the importance of connection and discipleship. We are hopeful for
what is to come in the future and how God will be glorified in this season at PCC.

Responsibilities:
● Cast, develop, initiate, and drive the strategic vision of PCC in partnership with the Elders
● Modeling discipleship with staff and congregation that exhibits the Fruits of the Spirit
● Provide dynamic and applicable preaching of Scripture on Sunday mornings and during special
services
● Coach, develop and mentor leaders for greater ministry effectiveness
● Provide or develop avenues for Pastoral Care and Counseling for those that seek it
● Ensure that the church is cultivating positive relationships within the community that assists the
deliverance of the gospel
● Oversees and executes the administration of the church through appropriate staff and leadership
teams, and ensures the completion of ministry and all other operational duties through staff and
lay volunteers
● Continuing to develop a growth strategy that leverages the synergy of existing resources and
ministries and prepares for expansion in the future

Education & Experience:
● A Master’s Degree from an accredited Seminary (i.e., Master in Theology, Master of Divinity,
Master of Discipleship) or higher preferred
● Minimum of five years of pastoral ministry and previous teaching experience desired
● Undergraduate four-year degree
● Training or experience in biblical counseling and guidance would be a desired asset

Personal Growth:
● Pursue a healthy, mature, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
● Practice the individual spiritual disciplines to include, but not limited to: prayer, Bible study,
solitude, service and stewardship
● Be part of a trusted group of christian mentors(ie. other pastors or counselors) that meet on a
regular basis to encourage, strengthen and hold one another accountable
● Must meet with a pastoral coach to ensure personal growth and accountability
● Pursue continued professional growth opportunities – pastoral conferences, retreats and
continued education. Utilizing a sabbatical as a time for rest and personal growth

Knowledge & Qualifications:
● The spiritual gift of Teaching and Preaching
● Spiritual, personal, character and biblical qualifications of an elder in his personal and public life
● Ability to fully engage the congregants and share a genuine, transparent message
● Proven experience in teaching, equipping, shepherding the church body with passion and clarity
using the Word of God in small and large group settings
● Scholarly attitude to the Word of God, being able to rightly handle the Word of truth
● Spiritual advisor and the ability to discuss and teach theology with congregants
● Must consent to and pass a thorough background check
