POSITION TITLE: Worship Pastor, Associate Pastor

SALARY: Will be based on education, qualifications, & experience. ($50,000 – $70,000 total package)
JOB/MINISTRY DESCRIPTION:
Mountain View is a congregation of believers in Greeley, Colorado – about mid-way between Denver, Colorado and Cheyenne, Wyoming. We currently offer 2 Sunday morning worship services with a total of about 160-220 in attendance each week. Our five-year old multi-use main worship area can accommodate about 360 for worship. We are a congregation that seeks to be true to God’s Word. We believe in the value of corporate worship and living out our faith. We are seeking an Associate Pastor who will be gifted in leading worship and our worship ministry but who will also be able to function as a true Associate Pastor. We are seeking one who has demonstrated and will demonstrate a love for people, and who is capable of overseeing and equipping others to lead in worship and demonstrate love for others. Candidates for this position will have demonstrated the ability to:
• Lead worship with sincerity, energy, and passion that connects with a variety of people.
• Lead worshippers in a variety of song styles – modern as well as traditional. (We currently offer a Traditional Worship Service at 9:15 AM on Sundays and a Modern/Blended Worship Service at 10:30 AM.)
• Recruit, Invest in, Develop, Motivate, Encourage, Schedule, & Empower others to lead in worship – vocalists & instrumentalists and technology.
• Disciple and mentor members of a worship ministry in their own personal, spiritual growth.
• Authentically connect with and show love for others.
• Plan and lead quality worship services for both those participating in person and online.
• Take responsibility for ensuring quality in staging, lighting, audio, worship slides & video, and online (live streaming and video editing of) worship services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to living according to God’s Word as historically understood.
• A student of God’s Word.
• Can fully affirm the EFCA Statement of Faith and is willing to become an active member of Mountain View Church.
• If not already credentialed with the EFCA, willing to work toward a License or Ordination with the EFCA within a reasonable time frame.
• Commitment to servant leadership.
• Humble & Teachable – open to loving, constructive criticism.
• High level of integrity – including the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Musical ability – vocally and on the keyboard &/or guitar.
• Understanding of the technological components used within the worship ministry.
• Ability to identify and teach new songs that are theologically sound & congregationally friendly.
• Familiar with Planning Center & ProPresenter.
• Strong computer and technology knowledge and skills.
• If married, a commitment to faithfulness to his spouse.
• Ability to create and live within a budget (fiscally responsible).
• Attention to details – including managing licenses (CCLI), etc.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• A Bachelor’s degree — preferably in the area of music but, if self-taught & gifted musically, in Bible or in some area of Christian Ministry is desired.
• Candidates will be willing to submit transcripts or proof of academic qualifications.
OTHER:
• Our Associate Pastors are under the immediate supervision of the Senior Pastor and accountable to the Leadership Team (Elders) and, ultimately, to the Members of Mountain View.
• Responsibilities will include planning and leading seasonal specials (i.e. Christmas Program, and Christmas Eve, Good Friday, & Resurrection Sunday Services) as well as being responsible for overseeing music and AV components for Weddings & Funerals, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining and upgrading when necessary any worship ministry related equipment, including instruments, lighting, sound, and technology components.
• Responsibilities. will include developing and providing oversight of our Sunday Morning Connections Team (Greeters & Ushers).
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Pastor or Elders.
• Since this is a “Pastoral” position: Ability to teach/lead small groups in Bible Study.
• Occasional preaching opportunities.
