Church Overview

  • LECC is an evangelical non-denominational Christian church that consists of families mostly with Chinese ethnic background. Please see church website for details https://leccweb.azurewebsites.net/About.
  • The church is located in Kirkland Washington, east of Seattle across from Lake Washington
  • LECC has about 100 people serving mostly the Seattle Eastside communities
  • There’s a Chinese-speaking Sunday service and an English-speaking Sunday service
  • We have a strong burden to grow our youth God’s way and are looking for a full-time dedicated youth pastor to work together on this ministry
  • LECC youth demographics can include both middle school students and high school students from current church families, and near-by community neighborhood

Youth Ministry Goals

  • Turn the youth into believers and disciples
  • Build up the foundation of faith for their college and adulthood life
  • Expand the kingdom of God through youth ministry. Grow the youth attendance by 10X and attract younger families to God.

Roles and Responsibilities

A minister of the Word of God

  • Preach at least twice a month at the English Sunday worship services
  • Teach High School and Middle School student Sunday School classes, regularly train Sunday School teachers
  • Teach the English baptism class and baptize new believers
  • Minister the monthly Holy Communion

A shepherd and servant of God, focusing on serving the youth

  • Visit and care for youth to build up the relationship with them
  • Lead youth fellowship programs
  • Work with youth parents to grow youth spiritually
  • Maintain contact with youth and parents, keeping them informed of ongoing activities. Keep parents updated on ministry strategies and plans in a way that encourages partnership and involvement

A spiritual leader and overseer for the youth ministry

  • Lead LECC youth ministry in planning, budgeting, execution and recruiting co-workers to work together
  • Develop plans to ensure the growth of youth in spiritual maturity and in congregation size.
  • Plan and train youth to serve within the church and outreach in the local community
  • Build, lead, and coordinate among all the youth co-workers
  • Encourage, train and participate in short term mission
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with various leaders in the community for purposes of outreach programs

A team player of the pastoral team and reports to the Elder and Deacon Board

  • Working with the Elder Deacon board to develop short-term tactical and long-term strategic plans, organize execution teams and/or establish programs to enable LECC short-term goals and execution strategy
  • Inform, coordinate, and support the Elder Deacon Board to ensure the ministry progress, synergy, and cohesiveness
  • Work with Elders and Deacons in developing concrete, implementable annual plan and budget
  • Participate and contribute to weekly and monthly meetings to collaborate with others (Elders and Deacons, Chinese and Children pastors, Co-Workers, and others)

Qualifications and Aptitudes

  • Have a clear and strong calling from God to serve in Youth Ministry. Have a love for Jesus Christ, for young people, and for the church
  • Talent to connect with youth and build trust relationships with them. Self-motivation to lead, capable of casting and imparting vision for ministry. Possess relational skills with youth, parents, and staff
  • Ability to work with parents and other co-workers to form a strong supporting team for youth spiritual growth
  • Exemplify obedience to the Word of God and devotion to a deep-rooted prayer life. Must have a clear testimony to a saving, sanctifying, and growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Model a Christ-like lifestyle and a passion to reach the lost for Jesus Christ
  • Chinese culture appreciation is highly preferred
  • Theological training or youth ministry experience preferred
