Position: Children’s Ministry Director
Ministry Area: Children’s Ministry
Reports to: Lead Pastor Effective: December 1, 2023
Position Status: Part-time (20 hrs/week) Posting Date: December 1, 2023
Replaces: All Previous

Position Summary:
To lead the Children’s Ministry (KidZone) staff and leaders in creating a community and ministry that leads children to authentic faith in Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities:
Pray and seek God’s way in ministry. Pray for staff, leaders, children, and families.
Know the children, families, and leaders in the ministry for the sake of loving God’s people and leading them to an authentic faith in Jesus.
Train and disciple ministry leaders and volunteers to lead children to an authentic faith in Jesus.
Cast vision and create effective structures, programs, initiatives, and curricula to move children and parents deeper in their faith for elementary curriculum and annual church retreat children’s ministries curriculum.
Manage Sunday morning teachers schedule and recruit new leaders and volunteers as necessary.
Oversee Sunday programs including directing, providing support, and troubleshooting when needs arise.
Contribute to setting up and breaking down classrooms, supplies, and equipment on Sunday mornings.
Lead weekly children’s ministry staff meetings.
Be a vital part of the leadership team for annual Vacation Bible School.
Serve and provide leadership in weekly after school outreach program during the school year.
Be the Special Needs children’s ministry point person.
Contribute to vision and planning for children’s ministry in conjunction with overall GrX church annual theme.
Manage children’s ministry budget.
Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.

Skills & Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within children’s ministry.
The ability to recruit, build, and manage teams and volunteers to achieve the purposes of the ministry.
An understanding of development of children and youth and how to teach, train up and disciple them.
The ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
The ability to communicate well.
The ability to establish good working relationships.
A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
