About this Position: Grace is seeking a Director of Worship Ministries to provide spiritual and musical leadership to the congregation on Sundays by developing and integrating the all- volunteer Worship and Tech Teams. Grace is blessed with several talented and servant-hearted musicians, vocalists, and technicians who work together to sustain the Worship Ministry from week to week. Our prayer is that the Director of Worship Ministries would play a pivotal role in building up the Body of Christ, enabling us to be more effective in our mission.

Position Title: Director of Worship Ministries Reports to: Senior Pastor

Schedule: 15 hours per week

Purpose: The Director of Worship Ministries leads and develops the Worship and Tech Teams to lead the congregation in musical worship during the Sunday service, exalting God and building up the Body of Christ.

Spiritual Requirements:
• A mature disciple of Jesus with a strong grasp of Scripture & Biblical Theology.
• Maintains a devotional life of personal Bible study, prayer, and praise.
• A deep love for the Body of Christ and desire to help believers grow.
• A strong desire to see non-believers come to know Jesus.
• Able to lead the congregation in prayer.
• In full agreement with the 2019 EFCA Statement of Faith.
• Willing to become a member of the church.
• Humble, teachable, servant heart, team player.

Responsibilities:
1. Lead the congregation in musical worship & prayer during the Sunday service.
• Select songs that are theologically sound, singable, and beautiful.
• Meet with the Senior Pastor weekly to plan & coordinate services.
2. Lead the Worship & Tech Teams.
• Plan & lead a weekly practice.
• Coordinate all team scheduling.
• Integrate teams to orchestrate the Sunday service.
3. Ensure the weekly recording and online posting of sermon video & audio.
4. Ensure maintenance of all worship-related hardware, software, and equipment.

Key Competencies:
1. Leadership
• A strong leader able to recruit, train, develop, and spiritually care for all volunteers on the worship & tech teams.
• Able to integrate teams with diverse gifts to orchestrate a Sunday service.
• Able to administrate & coordinate the scheduling of all team members.
2. Musical Ability
• Gifted vocalist and musician on acoustic guitar or piano/keyboard, or both.
• Able to plan and lead a service with both hymns and contemporary songs.
• Understands basic music theory; able to read sheet music & chord charts.
• Able to engage with and encourage the congregation while leading.
• Able to plan and execute smooth transitions that maintain a posture of worship.
3. Technical Knowledge
• Proficient with Planning Center, ProPresenter, Praise Charts.
• Knowledgeable of audio equipment, including sound boards & microphones.
• Knowledgeable of video equipment, including recording & posting online.
• Knowledgeable of lighting equipment & software.

Qualifications:
• 3+ years experience leading worship in a church of 100+
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required

Compensation:
• This is a paid position
• Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience
