THE BIG PICTURE
Grace Church (emmetsburg-grace.com) is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor of Equipping and Discipleship.
Ministry Summary:
The Associate Pastor of Equipping and Discipleship will fulfill the call to “equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12). He will support the Senior Pastor to build and develop a culture of disciple making, seeking to connect people to one another in the body for the purpose of growing in Christ-likeness. He will connect with the people of Grace Church, plug them into ministries, identify and invest in the lives of potential leaders, raise them up, and release them to do what they have been called by God to do.
Qualifications and Scriptural Foundations:
Scripturally, the characteristics of a pastor includes: a man above reproach, devoted to his wife, able to manage his family well, a faithful steward, humble and not arrogant, gentle and not quick tempered, not a drunkard, peaceful and not violent, a man of financial integrity, hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright and full of integrity, holy, able to teach, spiritually mature, respectable, and an example to the body (1 Peter 5, 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, Ephesians 5-6).

Responsibilities:
• Support the Senior Pastor and Elders in the accomplishment of the church’s mission to establish a disciple-making culture at Grace Church.
• Seek to establish disciple-making connections between individuals at Grace Church.
• Develop and ensure a unified discipleship strategy for all ages.
• Establish a database of individual spiritual gift’s and seek to connect believers to ministries in which they can thrive in serving the Lord, serving one another, and growing in Christ.
• Develop and deploy strategies for equipping existing leaders and potential leaders of ministries and equipping teachers.
• Establish and maintain strong connections with ministry team leaders for the purpose of encouragement, development, and accountability.
• Utilize relational opportunities to model and train others to be a disciple of Jesus and make disciples of Jesus.
• Preach when scheduled at agreed upon times.
• Visit those in the hospital, nursing homes, or shut in.
• Be a part of the Biblical Counseling staff.
• Shepherd the flock.
• Report to, and work closely with, the Senior Pastor.
• Serve as a pastor elder on the Council of Elders.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Requirements:
Education: Prefer a Bible college or seminary degree but would consider a qualified person without such degree.
Experience: Previous ministry leadership experience. Preferably 5 years or more.
