The Pastoral Resident position exists to fulfill our mission of making disciples who make disciples, by making pastors who make pastors.
The ideal candidate has a thriving relationship with Jesus, has a seminary degree and has gifts to advance God’s Kingdom in the surrounding community. It is very important to us to find a team player we like to be with. The pastoral resident will be someone who gets what we are doing, loves it but also looking to how they will lead and shape a church in the future.
Residency is a hands-on experience that uses real-life pastoral responsibilities as the foundation for development and continued discipleship. This candidate sees long-term pastoral ministry as the most foreseeable outcome of his time as a resident with Five Oaks Church.
This position is a 2 year position. In the last portion of your time in our residency, you will be given paid time to search and discern God’s call to your next pastoral position with the help of our staff, our EFCA local district, and other connected networks.
