Job Description

First Baptist Church of Mahomet (FBC) is seeking a full-time candidate for their student ministries director position. We are offering a competitive salary for a starting position. We would also accept a part-time candidate who can work a limited number of hours on Wednesday evenings, Sunday mornings and other events as your schedule permits. We would be willing to work with an intern who is looking for experience. There is opportunity for mentoring by our pastor leading to other ministry opportunities, including an associate or senior pastor position.

Job Description

  • Focus on transformative disciple-making
  • Partner with the student ministry team to provide leadership for the student ministry team.
  • Plan and organize student ministries in partnership with the student ministry team
    1. Choose appropriate curriculum for Sunday morning & Wednesday night
    2. Plan special events such as SKWIM, BYBC, mission activities and other events
    3. Promote and encourage students to participate in community and denominational events and activities, such as summer camp and those items listed in item 2
    4. Prepare and maintain a calendar of events and student curriculum
    5. Schedule adult leaders for ministry activities
    6. Recruit and train adult leaders for student ministries
  • Lead student ministries in partnership with the student ministry team
  • Perform long term planning with the student ministry team
  • Develop creative and innovative ways to engage students in discipleship and reach new students for Christ
  • Keep God’s Word central to all ministry activities
  • Maintain proper boundaries at all times
  • Adhere to the policies of First Baptist Church, with special attention to our child protection policies, and ensure others are in compliance at all times
  • Provide an example of Christian living and conduct
  • Keep order and provide discipline as needed
  • Use social media and other communications to provide information about activities to students, their parents and others
