Job Description

First Baptist Church in Monroe, WA is seeking a new Lead Pastor who will report to the congregation, through the Elder Board.  This is a salaried, full time position. 
Qualifications

Character and Philosophy
  • The pastor shall exemplify the qualifications of an Elder/Deacon as described in and I Timothy 3 and Titus 1
Education
  • The pastor shall have a seminary degree.
  • The pastor shall be ordained.
  • The pastor shall have read and understood the constitution, bylaws, policies, and procedures of First Baptist Church of Monroe and shall be willing to agree to and uphold these standards.
Experience
  • The pastor shall demonstrate experience in preaching and teaching the Bible to a congregation.
  • The pastor should have experience dealing with the Church budget and dealing the finance team
Duties and Responsibilities
  • The pastor shall work with the governing bodies established by the church,
  • Vision and Strategy: The Pastor shall be responsible for development, communication, and implementation of the vision and strategy of First Baptist Church of Monroe.
  • Preaching, teaching and training: The Pastor shall organize and be the primary preacher for weekly worship services on Sunday morning, as well as develop ways for people to be trained in discipleship.
  • Ministry: The Pastor shall provide leadership in the execution of the Church ministries
  • Staff supervision and development: The Pastor serves as director to ordained and lay staff and lay volunteers.
Accountability

            The pastor is ultimately accountable to God for the way he leads and disciples the body of Christ at First Baptist Church of Monroe. On the local level the pastor will be accountable to the congregation through the action of the Elders. There will be a yearly evaluation, encouragement of the pastor by the elders.
