The Big Picture
First Alliance Church (https://facerie.org) is seeking an individual for the position of Preschool Director.

Our Vision:
To build, equip, and mobilize followers of Jesus so that all nations may know him, to God’s glory.

Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of this ministry position is the general management and oversight of FAC’s Preschool ministry operations.

Reports to:
Executive Director

Supervises:
PreSchool Staff

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
• Oversee the scheduling, coverage and direct supervision of preschool teachers and teacher assistants including any substitute teachers.
• Recruiting, interviewing, and assist in hiring replacement personnel.
• Collaborate with teachers in researching and choosing preschool curriculum.
• Supports and Ensures the ministry including curriculum aligns with and is not in conflict with the mission and vision of First Alliance Church and the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
• Researching and recommending tuition rates, increases and other potential adjustments.
• Develop with the Executive Director the preschool operating budget.
• Recommending preschool’s annual start and end dates in concert with other FAC ministries and the Millcreek School District.
• Determining preschool schedule and cancellations in concert with other FAC ministries and the Millcreek School District.
• Planning and executing special events as approved by the Executive Director.
• Managing expenses within budget limitations and signing off on all preschool employee time sheets.
• Weekly, submit deposits as directed by the Finance Assistant and Executive Director.
• Teach 3-year-old class which currently meets two days per week.
• Maintaining contact as needed with parents of children regarding special concerns.
• Plan for and implement enrollment activities for the next academic year including identifying enrollment cost and fees, plan for and manage registrations, open houses, advertising, incoming interest, emails, and phone calls.
• Maintain contact with other FAC staff who direct other FAC children’s ministry.
• Attend and participate in FAC Staff meetings.

Essential Position Requirements and Qualifications:
• A dedicated Christ follower with an understanding of the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.
• Demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus through spiritual disciplines, such as prayer, fasting, the study of God’s Word, etc.
• A deep sense of calling and passion for working with children and families.
• Servant leadership with the ability to design, develop, implement, and lead a ministry, including volunteers and part-time staff.
• Possesses a passion for educating children and to see them know and follow Jesus.
• Understands and embraces FAC’s vision and values.
• An associate degree in education or related experience is preferred.
• Along with the above job description, the Preschool Director will also complete any other responsibilities deemed necessary by the leadership of FAC.
• Demonstrates spiritual maturity as evidenced by an authentic, humble, bold, and obvious love for God and His word.
• Communicates God’s word effectively and relevantly in multiple contexts, including Preschool and family events and main services.
• Effective communicator through formal and informal channels while determining which method is most effective given the situation with parents, leaders, children, members, colleagues, and members of the community.
• Exercises self-leadership in maintaining balance with family, spiritual and work life.
• Desire to achieve and maintain excellence in PreSchool Ministry programming.
• Works collaboratively with Children’s ministries to further the Great Commission.
• Demonstrates organizational skills by setting and maintaining priorities while effectively integrating work efforts.
• Effectively manages time, plans, and organizes, meeting deadlines, minimizing last minute planning while remaining flexible to change.
• Demonstrates sound problem solving and decision-making weighing alternatives and in a timely manner, reaching competent, sensible, and valid conclusions, following a systematic pattern of logic.
• Administration and good stewardship of resources.
• Takes seriously the communication of God’s word while embracing FAC’s theology of Biblical accuracy and relevancy.
• Understands, embraces, and spiritually aligns with the statements of faith, vision, values, constitution, bylaws, and polity of FAC and the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
• Proven ability to relate to, disciple and develop children, parents, and family leaders.
• Operates with spiritual discernment and maturity with a goal to wholesome education with Godliness.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Compliance with PA Acts 31, 33, 34 and 114 child abuse clearances are required before commencing employment.

Compensation and Benefits:

FLSA: Exempt Salaried typically 30 hours per week during the PreSchool academic year and additional hours as needed in concluding a school year or commencing the following academic year. Compensation is deemed commensurate with credentials and experience.
