Job Description

Purpose: To serve Faith Church by leading our student ministry in alignment with Faith’s mission, vision, values, and direction.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Ever-deepening love for Jesus, people and the local church.

• Passion for equipping parents and discipling middle and high school students to know love and follow Jesus.

• Calling to student ministry.

• Demonstrates the New Testament Leadership Qualifications.

• Possesses a clear call to the local church with a willingness to be all in with the mission, vision, values and direction of Faith Church.

• Excellent chemistry with Faith’s ministry team.

• Excellent ability to engage, listen and lead all types of personalities.

• Agreement with the EFCA statement of faith and Faith’s constitution and bylaws.

• A member of Faith Church or a willingness to become a member.

• Excellent communication skills including biblical teaching and writing.

• Capacity to develop a discipleship scope and sequence for students to fit within our overall plan for kids from birth through high school graduation.

• An ability to build, equip and lead teams.

• Theological training and/or 3 years of experience in ministry preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish, implement, communicate and evaluate Faith’s strategy for discipling middle and high school students and connecting them to Faith.

• Build a leadership team filled with leaders who have a calling, capacity and complementary gifts to accomplish Faith’s strategy for student ministry.

• Plan and execute fun events for students outside of typical programming.

• Help students connect with and become a vital part of our overall church family.

• Create and lead special events that equip and engage parents to mark milestone moments in their students’ lives.

• Develop students to be faith leaders in their friend groups, schools and in the ministry.

• Establish a ministry rhythm that disciples students through summer camps, conferences, retreats and short-term mission trips.

• Regularly communicate with parents about ministry vision, programming, events and their own child’s engagement in the ministry.

• All church employees play a role in advancing Faith’s mission, vision, values and direction and must make a valuable contribution to the church staff team and demonstrate a strong commitment to the corporate life of our church.

• Other duties as assigned.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:  The Student Ministry Director reports to the Executive Director of Ministry.
