The Evangelical Free Church of Mt. Morris (IL) is seeking a full-time associate pastor to lead ministries of youth and worship, and to assist with general pastoral ministry.
To be considered, he must meet the biblical qualifications for elders (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9). A Master of Divinity degree and experience in full-time ministry are preferred, but not required. Some financial assistance is available for completing an M.Div. while doing ministry.
As pastor to our youth, he will shepherd students and serve parents as a resource for family discipleship. This ministry should reflect our mission in making disciples of Jesus Christ through a balance of worship, Bible teaching, service, and outreach. Primary responsibilities include a leading a Sunday School class and evening youth group.
As pastor and worship leader, he will shepherd the congregation in their expression and experience of God’s grace and glory. We use a range of worship styles to reflect the history and diversity of the body of Christ. Primary responsibilities include planning weekly worship and special services, as well as overseeing teams of volunteers for both music and media.
Mt. Morris is a small town in northwest Illinois, set in the gently rolling hills of the Rock River Valley. It is about 30 miles southwest of Rockford and 100 miles west of downtown Chicago. We are a healthy church with an average Sunday attendance of 140. The congregation includes young and old from Mt. Morris and several surrounding communities.
