Lead Pastor and Elder Team
VISION STATEMENT
Believing the gospel is good news for students of all ages, we seek to create strategic discipleship environments where the younger generation can build healthy relationships and learn to follow the way of Jesus in all of life. The Director of NextGen Ministries will champion this ministry within the Elmwood family.
EXPECTATIONS
DISCIPLE MAKING AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT (60%)
- Spend time connecting with teachers, parents, and students in our community
- Build trust and collaboration among existing NextGen leaders and team members
- Invest in new and emerging NextGen Ministry leaders and team members
- Coordinate NextGen Ministry team members
- Be present and oversee the smooth operation of NextGen Ministry programming
- Invest in our existing students both during and outside of ministry programming
TEACHING (15%)
- Oversee all aspects of the NextGen teaching ministry
- Serve in other teaching environments throughout church life
MINISTRY ADMINISTRATION (10%)
- Work with Administrative Assistant as needed
- Timely responses to email and internal office communication
ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP (15%)
- Cast a clear and compelling NextGen vision to the congregation
- Overseen the implementation of our core values within NextGen Ministry
- Build systems and infrastructure for sustainable ministry growth
- Create initiatives to integrate children and students in the life of the church

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Displays evidence of maturity and a growing relationship with Christ, as demonstrate by the fruit of the Spirit, personal character, family life, and a reputation that qualifies him or her for church leadership (See Gal 5:22ff.)
- Possesses all of the qualifications of deacon (see 1 Tim. 3)
- Is self-motivated and takes initiative
- Has relevant student ministry experience
- Possesses a deep love for and calling towards NextGen Ministries
- Understands emerging generations and a passion to reach them
- Committed to both a relational and team-oriented approach to ministry
- Can provide references which unanimously affirm this person’s character and competency for this role
COMMITMENT
As written, this role description is for a full-time position. For the right candidate we are flexible between 15 and 40 hours per week. Compensation will be determined on experience and part- or full-time employment.
