Job Description

DESCRIPTION
Elmbrook Church is a non-denominational, intergenerational, multi-site church excited about the life change possible in Christ. Elmbrook’s mission is to help members become Rooted in Jesus Christ and Released to His mission. The Lake Country Campus Worship Leader works to provide a worshipful environment through music and singing at all campuses, though their primary venue of deployment will be Elmbrook’s Lake Country Campus. While their org-chart accountability primarily lies with the Lake Country Campus Pastor, they will collaborate with the Worship Director to pursue a shared vision of worship for the Elmbrook family. The Lake Country Campus Worship Leader will assist with day-to-day operations and logistics planning for weekend services and special events. They will help direct the band and vocalists as needed, assuring that service details are covered for weekends and special events. This person will also provide and lead cross-campus departmental worship for other ministries.

Four personal capacities are required to carry out this role. First, this person must possess strong competencies in understanding, preparing, and presenting contextually appropriate music. Second, the Lake Country Campus Worship Leader must possess relational skills embodying Spiritual Fruit (Galatians 5) to build teams, lead others, and respond to feedback from the pastors and Worship Director. Third, this person must have the capacity to coordinate and serve with the necessary tools and logistics of the position and the production team around them. Finally, as a pastoral presence, the capacity to connect on a spiritual and empathic level with the congregation while leading is essential.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Demonstrate a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Active participant or member of Elmbrook church who supports and endorses the statement of faith, core values, and vision.
• Possess two years of worship leading experience and ministerial or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Possess strong vocals with the ability to hear and sing harmony.
• Ability to invest in other potential worship leaders.
• Proficient or growing in music Competency (lead from an instrument, basic music theory, and language).
• Ability to develop and lead teams of people toward common purposes and goals.
• Model servant leadership by attitude and practice, especially when processing and responding to feedback given.
• Desire to build healthy, positive, and life-giving relationships with other staff.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written, and ability to communicate effectively with volunteers, church leaders, and other corresponding ministries at Elmbrook Church.
• Affirm and pursue the core Elmbrook staff values of Integrity, Humility, and Spirit-Led; as well as Elmbrook staff genetics: Integrity, Inspiration, Innovation, Interdependence, Inquisitiveness, Intent, and Insistence.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leading Worship
o Lead worship on weekends at the Lake Country campus
o Lead worship for Elmbrook Church functions and special events as needed
o Lead alongside the Campus Pastor to provide an atmosphere of warm and relatable worship
• Band Development
o Schedule and attend rehearsal
o Provide training resources for instrumentalists and vocalists
• Recruit Volunteers
o Will maintain a process for onboarding new volunteers – Auditions, etc. (instrumentalists, vocalists, tech)
• Supervise and lead Lake Country Campus Production Coordinator
• Assist with organizing and scheduling musicians and vocalists for weekend services as well as special events within Planning Center Online
• Attend weekly planning meetings all staff meetings, Lake Country campus meetings
• Campus Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred; two years related experience and/or training; teaching/facilitating experience.

• Strong communication skills, verbal and written, and ability to communicate effectively with visitors, community members, congregants, church leaders, and other corresponding ministries at Elmbrook Church.
• Solid leadership, team building, project management, and strategic decision-making skills.
• Able to build into volunteers and staff, encouraging growth in their gifting.

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION
This position is full-time, salary and classified as exempt 40+ hours/week
Salary – dependent on experience, skills & education

Paid Time Off (PTO) – Full-time employees are eligible to earn PTO. PTO is accrued on a calendar year basis. Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.

403b – Employees are eligible to participate in the 403b pension plan if they are scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Entry dates for the 403b plan are the first of the month following the date of hire. On an employee’s first anniversary, Elmbrook will match up to 2%.

Holidays – Full-time employees are eligible for holiday pay. Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.

This position will be accountable and report directly to the Lake Country Campus Pastor.
