Job Description

Employment – Full-time or Part-time
Purpose
To “invite and equip to become fully alive in Christ” by developing programs, strategies,
and relationships to reach and disciple students within the framework of the Cornerstone
strategic plan of “Connect, Grow, Impact”
Qualifications
• Meet the Biblical qualifications of a leader (1 Tim 3:1-13).
• Two years experience in student ministry
• Proven capability in leading large groups
• Proven capability in developing leaders
• Able to develop and work within the structure of a team
• Able to preach and teach
• B.A. degree preferred but not required

Duties and Responsibilities
• General Pastoral Responsibilities
• Actively participate in the pastoral duties of weddings, funerals, baptisms, and child
dedications when called upon
• Lead or participate in a life group
Specific Ministry Responsibility
• Develop a creative and engaging weekly program for Jr. High and High school
students
• Develop Student life groups and train leaders to facilitate these groups
• Actively recruit and train student ministry volunteers
• Work with Children’s Ministries to strategically coordinate the discipleship path for
Cornerstone’s children and youth and make the transition between Children’s Ministry
and Student Ministry seamless.
• Develop strategies to prepare students to graduate and live “missional lives”
• Develop ways to engage parents and families in the life of the church
Reports to – Lead Pastor ● Normal work week is 40 – 50 hours ● Must be available to
work when youth are not in school, meaning afternoons after school hours, multiple
evenings per week, some Saturdays, and all Sunday mornings
