The Church is located in the family friendly town of Libertyville, IL with close access to larger cities. Chicago is just 45 minutes away while Milwaukee is about 40 minutes away.
Job Overview
We are looking for a servant leader, highly relational, with a clear vision for ministry. He will need to have strong communication skills (both in the pulpit and inter-personally), a calling for developing new leaders, a passion for reaching the lost, and the ability to motivate others to be a part of God’s plan. He will need to understand and work with our existing partnerships with Converge MidAmerica and Converge Worldwide.
Formal Responsibilities
1. Leadership Skills
1. The creativity to envision new possibilities for the ministry of Connection Church.
2. The ability to think strategically about opportunities and challenges.
3. Identify and communicate clear goals and effective strategies to achieve them.
4. The ability to recruit, lead and manage church volunteers to fulfil the mission of the church
5. Develop an effective ministry team with staff and lay leaders.
6. Realistically assess situations and take appropriate actions.
7. The awareness of and ability to employ current technology for effective ministry.
8. Shepherd and develop the Board of Elders and ministry leaders.
2. Communication Skills
1. Strong biblical preaching for life transformation.
2. The ability to teach and communicate God’s Word in a variety of settings.
3. Cast and communicate a compelling and clear vision for Connection Church.
4. Oversee written communications throughout the church.
5. Oversee worship planning and preparation to inspire the church and reach the community.

2. Qualifications
1. Personal Qualities
1. Meet the New Testament requirements for office as listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
2. A strong devotional and prayer life.
3. An inherent grace in their relationship to God and other people.
4. Energy and passion in implementing ministry.
5. Attitudes and behaviors guided by biblical principles.
2. Professional Qualities
1. Embrace and hold the Affirmation of Faith of Connection Church.
2. Maintain a baptistic perspective in theology and policy.
3. Have a degree from an accredited seminary or Bible college.
4. A minimum of two years’ experience in a leadership pastoral role.
