Job Description

Position: Beloved Kids & Youth Ministry Director
Reports to: Pastor, Director of Operations
Hours: PT or FT, Sundays, some evenings (min 20 hours/week)

Position Summary:
Church of the Beloved Kids & Youth Ministry is looking for a director to shepherd students and families by leading a
Christ-centered and relational children and youth ministry. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of
Sunday morning ministry, including curriculum and training volunteers, and planning special events throughout the year.

Our desire is for someone who has a heart for creating a warm, loving environment where the Gospel is learned and lived, and where meaningful relationships are formed. We have about 15 regularly attending students ranging from early preschool to 10th grade (about 25 children total) and a dedicated group of 10 ministry volunteers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
● Promote and maintain overall vision for the ministry that is consistent with COTB’s goals and vision.
● Plan and lead Beloved Kids & Youth Ministry in collaboration with volunteers, students, and families.
● Invest relationally in students and families, modeling your faith and encouraging their participation in Church life.
● Develop and implement a learning environment and opportunities that build a strong foundation of God’s love
through Bible knowledge and stories in an environment that is engaging, creative, and interesting.
● Regularly recruit, train, pray for, and engage with ministry volunteers.
● Manage administrative aspects of the ministry (volunteer coordination, budget, communications, and calendar).
● Plan seasonal events and coordinate family participation during Christmas, Easter, outreach and fellowship
events, and baby dedications.
● Oversee safety and security procedures (vetting volunteers, facility improvements, create/enforce necessary rules
for safety and security).
● Regularly check in with and pray for key relationships; ability to attend Monday morning staff meetings.

General Expectations and Qualifications Include:
● Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, demonstrating Christian maturity, a deep and prayerful dependence upon God; wholeheartedly affirm COTB’s vision and values.
● Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster teamwork in a positive atmosphere with students, volunteers, and parents.
● Be a current member of a church in good standing, or willing to become a member of COTB.
● Have a desire to teach and mentor children and youth with patience and an accepting heart.
● Have prior experience teaching students in Sunday school or youth ministry.
● Able to exercise discernment and wise judgment.
● Be a self-starter, good at multitasking, and prioritizing projects.
● Maintain personal spiritual development through Bible reading, prayer, and Christian community.
● Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
● Must pass background check and complete sexual abuse prevention training.

● Salary range: $30,000 – $60,000 (depending on pt/ft availability and experience)
