Christ Our Cornerstone Church (COCC) (O’Neill, NE) Pastor
Christ Our Cornerstone Church is actively searching for a solo full-time pastor.

– COCC is a small independent, congregation led church in the rural farming and ranching community of O’Neill, in North Central Nebraska.
– O’Neill’s amenities:

Mission Statement
The mission of Christ Our Cornerstone Church is the same mission Jesus gave his followers.
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” -Matthew 28:19

The Candidate

We are seeking a man with:
– Spiritual maturity reflecting the character of Christ in both his private and public life.
– A man with a passion for the edification and growth of God’s Church through the expository preaching of His Word.
– A man with the God given abilities to communicate meaning and insight from Scripture in a way that connects with the congregation and effectively leads to learning, understanding, and application.
– A man who is sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and will serve along with the Board of Elders, with the main responsibilities of the pulpit ministry, and the administration of the ordinances.
– Commitment to fulfill the Great Commission and will support and encourage the church’s ministries including Biblical counseling services.

The Qualifications

– Born-again, baptized believer who loves the Lord.
– A man who is licensed or an ordained minister, or in seminary/bible school working towards a degree who meets qualifications listed for that office in 1Timothy 3: 1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
– Possess a proficiency in biblical theology and the ability to convey biblical truth to all age groups.
– Willingness to engage the local community and support of the church’s ministries and missionaries.
– Possess the ability to disciple, teach and shepherd members of the church community.
– Maintain a healthy balance of personal growth in the Lord, family life, and ministry life.
– Nationally certified in Biblical counseling (ACBC) is a plus, but not required.
– Ministry experience preferred but not required.

The Compensation

– Salary: $70,000-$85,000
– Negotiated Benefits
– Sabbaticals to be scheduled with the Elder Board
– Vacation
– Continuing Education
– Annual mileage allotment provided

3. In just a few sentences please give a summary of your theology and how that is in line with the doctrine of COCC.

COCC Doctrine:
We believe in:
– One God, eternally existing in three persons; The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
– The Holy Bible is God’s inspired Word to us.
– Mankind was created in God’s image.
– Salvation through Jesus Christ is God’s gift to mankind.
– The resurrection of the saved and the lost.
– God is able to heal us as He wills through Jesus Christ.
– Every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity.
– Marriage is sanctioned by God as the union of one man and one woman.
– Any form of sexual immorality is sinful and offensive to God.
– God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sins.
– Baptism by water as a testimony of inward spiritual transformation.
– Communion of the Lord’s Supper with elements used to symbolically commemorate Jesus’ body and blood.
