About the Care Pastor:
The Care Pastor is responsible for initially caring for and meeting the people of Century Baptist Church where they are physically and spiritually. The Care Pastor does not work alone but trains and equips the church body to care for one another. This is a true shepherding role that is geared towards connecting people to Christ and connecting people to others no matter the generation or circumstance.
This position requires a high level of care, discernment, communication, and flexibility as needs arise.
The Care Pastor’s Responsibilities Include:
The Care Pastor maintains direct pastoral care for specific and specialized care needs.
Maintain regular patterns of visits to congregation members who are hospitalized or shut-in.
Serve as the first point of contact for weddings, bereavements, and funerals.
Provide pastoral counseling or counseling referrals as needed.
Giving leadership to the midweek Senior’s Bible Study.
Training up and empowering a team of volunteers- a multiplication of self with a heart for Care Ministry.
Other:
Give leadership to ministry among senior adults at Century.
Oversees the Century Baptist Prayer Email (prayer chain).
Engage in Kingdom Ministry, including care-related partnerships beyond Century Baptist.
Participates in Elder Board meetings.
Other duties as assigned.

5+ years of applicable experience
Undergraduate degree

Ability to culturally connect with those in multi-generational ministries.
Leading, training, and equipping volunteers.
Provide continued training opportunities for individuals and specialty care teams.
Give direction and support to persons volunteering to oversee specific areas of congregational care.
Share in oversight, direction, and resourcing of ministry teams with the Adult Ministry Assistant.
