Job Description

Church Mission: Love God, Love People, Make Disciples of Jesus
Ministry Area: Students (middle school and high school)

Position Purpose: The purpose of this position is to serve as a team lead and program director for the student ministry. The position will work to maintain program stability through events, community building, and faith growth. The student ministry exists to disciple the next generation of Christ followers – empowering them, teaching them, equipping them, and loving them as a family on mission together. This begins with middle school and high school students and their families but can only be realized with heartfelt involvement of young adults, adult leaders, and parents.

Position Description:
*Make Disciples – The Director will seek to align everything he or she does around the mission of Bonhomme Church,
which is to Love God, Love People, and Make Disciples of Jesus.
*Disciple Students Through Leaders – the Middle School and High School ministries function through the work of
dedicated parent teams and volunteer leaders. This role will involve coaching volunteer leaders for success.
*Part of a Team – The Director will be a key part of the church staff and as such will collaborate and support that team, and ensure the ministry aligns with other programs of the church under the supervision of the Family Pastor.
*Plan and Plan to Have Fun – The Director position is a relational AND administrative position; therefore, the Director will be able to see projects through from start to finish and can manage “details.”
*Culture Shaper and Legacy Maker – The goal is to uphold, nurture and build a program that can flourish and a culture that continues should the Director role ever changes hands.

A concise list of responsibilities includes, but is not limited to, the following:
1) Build Christ-centered relationships with youth, modeling personal discipleship and mentoring.
2) Oversee and recruit the volunteer teams responsible for student ministry through visioning, directing, training, and
organizing.
3) Shepherd the execution of all Student Ministry programming and events, including Sunday and mid-week
programming, monthly events, and take primary lead on quarterly retreats and trips and summer camps.
4) Lead the teaching ministry for students, overseeing curriculum, scope, sequence, and teacher training.
5) Develop and refine confirmation with the help of volunteer leaders.
6) Partner with Family Pastor to hire, supervise, and lead any additional student ministry staff.
7) Collaborate and communicate with parent and adult volunteer leaders.
8) Calendar and communicate student ministry events and programs on a yearly and ongoing basis.
9) Involve students and their families in the ministry of the church, supporting and participating in the church’s vision,
worship services, missions, and activities.
10) Ensure alignment of the student ministry with that of the family ministry and the mission of the church.
11) This is a 40-hour a week position, and includes work on Sundays, evenings and out of town travel.
