Antrim Brethren in Christ Church (https://antrimbic.org) is seeking a full-time Lead Pastor to join our staff. Founded in 1885, Antrim BIC has a rich history and provides an immense opportunity to impact our community. Located in beautiful south-central Pennsylvania, our community provides a small town feel while having close proximity to mid-size cities. Our church has an average attendance of 600 between two Sunday morning services. In addition, we have a strong Sunday School program with nearly 500 regular participants.
The Church: • Strong family involvement with a youth group that exceeds 50 teens and a large children’s program. • Two services on Sunday mornings. First service incorporates traditional hymn music and choir whereas the second service incorporates a contemporary music format. • Strong Sunday School teaching for all ages. • A long history of expositional Bible teaching that has resulted in good biblical literacy in the congregation. • Excellent music ministry that includes a choir and an annual Christmas ministry that draws over 1,000 attendees. • Large community outreach events that include an annual car show, wild game dinner and a bi-annual Christmas Cradle to the Cross drive through program. Pastoral Job Overview • The Senior Pastor provides overall leadership in the church. • Serves as the preaching pastor which includes two services each Sunday morning. • Provides expositional Bible teaching and preaching. • Provides supervision, guidance and growth for Pastoral and Ministry staff. • Leads the staff, congregation by example spiritually, personally, and professionally. • Has strengths in team building and vision casting and a wealth of biblical wisdom. • Attends monthly board meetings and serves as the staff lead for these meetings. • Works closely with the Elder Board. Current Staff • Administrative Pastor • Pastor of Congregational Care • Connections Pastor • Director of Worship Arts • Director of Youth Ministry • Director of Children’s Ministry • Director of Women’s Ministry • Facilities Manager • Administrative Assistant Education and Experience • Graduate in Biblical Studies or related field, MDiv preferred. • Has served in a Preaching Pastor role 7-10 years with at least five years of experience as a Senior Pastor. • Must affirm and adhere to the Brethren in Christ Articles of Faith and Doctrine and Core Values. • Experience supervising and leading a staff team in effective relationships, vision, and outcomes leading to spiritual growth in those that enter our doors. • Demonstrated experience and outcomes in community outreach programs aimed at pointing the local community to love and forgiveness found in Jesus Christ. • Ability to teach, lead and stand firmly in the face of societal decay. • Experience in the Senior Pastor role in a church with a minimum of 250 attendees. • Self-motivated and disciplined in prayer life, Bible study and love for people from all walks of life.
Our church is located in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. This area offers affordable living, strong public and private schools, and many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, biking and hiking with close proximity to the Appalachian Trial, C&O canal and skiing at two local ski resorts. We also have a strong historical presence in our area including Gettysburg Battlefield and Antietam Battlefields. Franklin County is very family oriented and offers opportunities for all ages.
