Legal ObligationTrinity International University is legally and ethically obligated to protect the confidentiality of students' records. The University Records Office provides resources to assist Faculty and Staff learn about student privacy rights and responsibilities: Online powerpoint tutorial; Group training; One-on-one consultation; FERPA Brochure. Online Powerpoint Tutorial This is a self-paced online FERPA training opportunity for TIU faculty and staff (adapted from AACRAO Compliance Resources for faculty/staff training). Click on Tutorial. Group Training SessionIn addition to the online tutorial, for persons who wish to learn more about student privacy rights and responsibilities there is available FERPA training sessions. These sessions may be attended by schools, departments or small groups, as needed. Please contact the Registrar, Bob Bosanac, at rbosanac@tiu.edu to request a personalized group training session. One-on-One ConsultationThe various FERPA regulations can be complex. You may wish to have further discussion and help with an individual situation(s), which may arise. The Registrar and Associate Registrar offer time for needed one-on-one consultations.
