Roger L. Kieffer is Senior Vice President for Enrollment and Regional Centers at Trinity International University. He oversees Registration and Records, Financial Aid, and Admissions for Trinity College, the Divinity School, and the Graduate School at the Deerfield campus. Additionally, he serves as administrative liaison for TIU’s three regional centers in Davie, Florida, Santa Ana, California, and Dolton, Illinois (South Chicago).
Kieffer has served in a variety of capacities at a number of Christian colleges since attaining his BS in Physical Education from LeTourneau University and his MS degree from the University of Wyoming in 1977. He has more than thirty years of total service in Christian higher education, including the past twenty-four in administrative roles.
The first seven years of his career were spent as a faculty member and coach (baseball and wrestling) at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas, followed by eight years there in increasingly responsible roles in the area of enrollment management. From Associate Dean of Admissions and Records in 1984 to Dean of Enrollment Management in 1992, when he accepted the position of Vice President for Enrollment Management at King College in Bristol, Tennessee.
Kieffer was instrumental in introducing the concept of enrollment management to both LeTourneau and King. His accomplishments include providing leadership in combining the functions of admissions, financial aid, and registration and records to better serve students at both institutions.
His passion is Christian higher education. During his years in the field of enrollment management he has served five years on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Christian College Admissions Personnel, including a two-year term as president. He also served for twelve years on the Commission of Chief Enrollment Officers of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. He has assisted in the planning of professional development workshops for Christian college admissions personnel, and he recently participated as a member of the Steering Committee for a national marketing research project for the CCCU in 2000.
He served for four years at King College before moving to Bluefield College in Bluefield, Virginia, to serve for one year as Vice President for Administration. Kieffer's role at Bluefield was one of transitioning the institution during a very difficult time of financial exigency. He returned to King College in the fall of 1997 and served there for three and a half more years, this time as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Administration, before coming to Trinity in November of 2000.
Kieffer and his wife, Robin, reside in Beach Park, Illinois. They have four children and six grand children. Kieffer enjoys golf, hiking, travel, and fantasy baseball. He also loves to read, teach, and learn.
