Susan Greener, PhD

Dr. Susan Greener serves as Dean of Students for the Divinity and Graduate Schools. Most recently, she served as Director of Program Development for Mission of Mercy, a ministry dedicated to holistic Christian care for children and families in developing nations.

Prior to joining Mission of Mercy, Dr. Greener served as the Senior Human Development Specialist for Compassion International, an organization serving more than 400,000 children and youth living in poverty. She has also served as an assistant professor of Human Development for Berry College in Rome, Georgia, and as research associate for Yale University in the area of emotional intelligence. Susan has conducted workshops or taught courses for church-based workers from more than thirty countries. She has also developed materials on various human development topics for use around the world and has published journal articles and book chapters.

Her ongoing desire has been to promote optimal human development through the work of the church, believing that the incarnation of Jesus Christ mandates holistic ministry to his people. After studying psychology at Wheaton and Blackburn colleges, Susan went on to pursue studies in human development to prepare for global ministry, earning MS and PhD degrees in Human and Community Development from the University of Illinois at Urbana.

She has been married to Jay, who is a pastor, for twenty-four years and has three children. When not working she can usually be found with her nose in a novel, solving a crossword puzzle, spending time with her family, or involved in one of the many duties of the pastor’s wife.
