Gary P. Cantwell

Gary P. Cantwell is Vice President of Communications and Marketing at Trinity International University. He oversees all university publications, advertising, marketing, public relations, internal communications, and the Trinity website. He also consults with the other departments on effective communications and marketing strategies.

Cantwell graduated with a BFA in Communications from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, in 1984 and has a broad background in ministry and business. He began his career in broadcasting, working as an on-air personality in the Dallas radio market, moving to the management side of the business, and building an entrepreneurial venture in the movie theater industry.

His service in ministry began in 1986 as a staff member with Campus Crusade for Christ in the Josh McDowell Ministry. He accepted a call in 1988 to serve as College Minister at his home church, Pantego Bible Church in Arlington, Texas, where he served for three years under Pastor Randy Frazee. While at Pantego, Cantwell transitioned to Communications Minister and created a state-of-the-art communications ministry for this growing church.

In 1991, he moved to Colorado Springs to be Operations Manager for Beacon Technology, a pioneering Bible software company. In 1993 he became Operations Manager for NavPress Software and later served as their Director of Marketing. During his 6 years at NavPress Software (now WORDsearch), the company quadrupled in size and became an industry leader in Bible software.

Cantwell was recruited in 1999 to lead the Marketing Department for an entrepreneurial document management software company. He then served at iExalt.com as Executive Director of iSermons, a sermon resource site for pastors, where he managed the development of the site from conception to completion. Once again called by his local church, he served as Associate Pastor of The Church at Sugar Creek in Sugar Land, Texas, until coming to Trinity in April of 2002.

A gifted speaker and Bible teacher, Cantwell is a licensed minister who has faithfully served churches both as a staff member and as a lay leader. Cantwell has also served as a church deacon and elder and was actively involved in church planting. He has worked as a marketing and leadership consultant for churches, ministries, and businesses.

Cantwell and his wife, Patti have two children. Cantwell enjoys baseball, walking, reading, and spending time with his family.
