Trinity's president, Dr. Greg Waybright, also approved names for Trinity Hall's great room and two wings, recognizing the three historic locations of the university.
The "Rushford Commons" is a spacious 5,000-square-foot great room with a coffee shop, meeting areas, and lots of windows—unlike anything else on campus. Apartments for married students will be on the second floor of the Rushford Commons. The name refers to Rushford, Minnesota, where the Norwegian-Danish Association's Bible Institute and Academy was established in 1910.
The "Minneapolis Wing" will house male students. The Bible Institute and Academy moved from Rushford to Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1916. Trinity is part of the Evangelical Free Church of America, which is headquartered in Minneapolis.
The "Chicago Wing" will house female students. The Swedish Bible Institute began in Chicago in 1897. It merged with the Norwegian-Danish school in 1946 and eventually became known as Trinity Seminary and Bible College. Trinity remained in Chicago until the 1960s, when a move to the present location was made.
A formal dedication of Trinity Hall is tentatively planned for Homecoming, October 7, 2006.
