TIU Golf Outing
Deerfield Golf Club

Join us for an afternoon of golf at Deerfield Golf Club. The day begins with a light lunch before we hit the course for a four-person scramble format. The tournament is followed by dinner in the Deerfield Golf Club dining hall. A silent auction will be held, and prizes will be given for a variety of best and worst shots, plus prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Join old friends or make some new ones. The price is $190 per golfer. You are encouraged to recruit your own foursome, though you can sign up as an individual. Reach beyond your limits and join us for a morning run or walk with Elie Hasbani (MA ’02), founder of Running for Hope. Running for Hope is an organization that seeks to provide for those in the third world who have lost limbs as a result of war. Obama v. McCain, Religion and Presidential Elections
Paul J. Maurer, PhD

With the presidential election only a month away, electoral buzz will be all around us, but how Christians think about politics has changed. In anticipation of this historic election, Dr. Maurer will offer a glimpse into the role of religion in the White House, beginning with FDR through Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, and reflections on the role of faith in the campaigns of Senators McCain and Obama.(Dr. Maurer’s doctoral studies in political science include an emphasis on American presidency. He is writing a book on the religious rhetoric of Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan.)

U-PREP 101: Practical Guidelines for College Preparation

U-Prep 101 is designed to give students and parents an opportunity to hear from an admissions professional on how best to prepare academically, financially, and spiritually for college. The presentation covers relevant topics such as suggested high school courses, the college application process, the campus visit, standardized tests, how to pay for college, and the case for Christ-centered higher education.(Aaron Mahl has more than five years of professional admissions experience.  He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communications and a Master of Science degree in Higher Education Administration.  Aaron has developed the U-Prep101 seminar because he is passionate about preparing high school students and their parents  for the college search and selection process.)

Trinity Sibling Sleepover

Brothers and sisters eight and older get to spend the night in the Trinity residence halls! Parents must sign waiver forms at check-in. It is Trinity’s policy to not allow members of the opposite sex to be present in dorm rooms after visiting hours; therefore, it is the responsibility of the Trinity student to make arrangements for sibling(s) to sleep in dorm rooms of those of the same sex.
