*As of January 2001, State of Florida licensing
requirements for internship are 1,000 contact hours. Students
unable to meet this requirement in two semesters of internship
can enroll in further onsite work using CP 686 Counseling
Practicum or CP 757 Advanced Counseling Practicum as one of
the Mental Health Counseling concentration electives.
Candidacy
In addition to the candidacy requirements outlined in "Academic
Policies" within the Trinity Graduate School catalog, MA/CP
students are required to participate in one semester of group
counseling while in residence. A separate fee is charged for
this counseling.
Licensure
Applicants interested in licensure should request in writing,
a copy of the licensure requirements from the Department of
Health, Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family
Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling, Medical Quality Assurance,
4052 Bold Cypress Way, Bin # CO8, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-3258,
or call (850) 245-4474. Individual eligibility must be verified
periodically through careful review of state licensure regulations
which are subject to change.
