The Master of Arts (Religion) program of study includes the following courses for a total of 48 hours:

Old Testament (Recommended OT 500) 4 hours

New Testament (Recommended NT 500) 4 hours

Limited Elective in OT or NT 2-3 hours

Systematic Theology 9 hours

 

ST 601 Theology I: Introduction to Theology 3 hours

 

ST 602 Theology II: Christ, Man, Sin, and Salvation 3 hours
  ST 603 Theology III: Holy Spirit, Church, Last Things 3 hours

Church History Elective 3-4 hours

Mission and Evangelism 2 hours

 

ME 524 Foundations of Evangelism 2 hours

Pastoral Theology 1 hour

 

PT 520 Personal Assessment and Ministry Orientation 1 hour

Pastoral Theology Electives (select from EM, H, ME, PC, PT) 8 hours

Electives 11-13 hours

IG 789 Integrative Paper 2 hours

Field Education (3 semesters) 0 hours

TOTAL 48 hours

 

Candidacy

Admission to the Master of Arts (Religion) program must be followed by achievement of candidacy for the degree. Program candidacy occurs when

  • A minimum of 16 hours in the program are completed with a minimum GPA of 2.5 after admission to the program.
  • All entrance deficiencies and conditions are removed.
  • Formal action has been taken by the faculty to grant candidacy for the degree.
