The Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MA/CP) program
is designed to enable students to understand the nature and
needs of human beings through the application of Biblical
truth, helping individuals move towards spiritual, mental
and emotional wholeness. The program emphasizes:
- Familiarity with the methods and conclusions of psychology
- Development of strong counseling skills
- Integration of faith in counseling theory and practice
The MA/CP program provides the opportunity for students to
prepare professionally for a career in counseling within a
Christian context.
The MA/CP program combines a theoretical foundation, biblical
perspective, and practical counseling skills to prepare the
student to work effectively as a counselor in the mental health
or educational counseling fields.
Select From Two Concentrations:
All MA/CP students take a core course sequence in counseling
as well as Bible and theology. Based on their professional
goals, students then elect one of two concentrations: Mental
Health Counseling or Guidance and Counseling. The MA/CP program
is 54-60 credit hours, depending on the concentration selected.
