The School Counseling concentration is designed to prepare
professionals to work with children in a variety of educational
settings, with special emphasis on guidance and counseling.
Building on the core counseling curriculum, this concentration
adds courses designed to prepare graduates with the skills
needed to assess and counsel children regarding personal,
social, educational, and vocational concerns and to develop
cooperative relationships with community agencies in assisting
children and families. The Guidance and Counseling concentration
is 21 credits and a field-based practicum is required.
