Paul Bialek, PhD
Paul Bialek is Associate professor of Mathematics and chair of the Mathematics Department at Trinity International University's Trinity College.
Prior to coming to Trinity, Dr. Bialek taught as a visiting assistant professor of mathematics at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. He also served as a mathematics instructor at the College of Wooster in Ohio and as a teaching assistant at the University of Illinois.
Dr. Bialek received the Doctor of Philosophy, the Master of Arts, and the Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Bialek's areas of expertise include the history of mathematics and the integration of the Christian faith with mathematics. He is a member of the American Mathematical Society, the Mathematics Association of America, and the Association of Christians in the Mathematical Sciences. Dr. Bialek coauthored "Five formulas of Ramanujan arising from Eisenstein series" (Canadian Mathematical Society Conference Proceedings, 1995) and "Formulas of Ramanujan for the power series coefficients of certain quotients of Eisenstein series" (International Mathematics Research Notices 2002, no. 21).
Dr. Bialek and his wife, Nancy, live in Deerfield. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and learning foreign languages, such as Spanish, Chinese, New Testament Greek, and Old Testament Hebrew. He appeared on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on January 17-18, 2007.
