There are several ways to search for items in TrinCat. You can look for items by author, title, subject or keyword. The subject heading search locates items by the Library of Congress Subject heading. For a guide to possible subject headings look in The Library of Congress Subject Headings (the "big red books"). Keyword searches will search all fields describing a book including title, subject headings and any description that may be in the record. Once you have located a book you can click on the title to view more information about the book including the call number, location, and current status of the book. The status will tell you if the book is on the shelf or checked out to another patron. It will also let you know if there is more than one copy of the book in the library.
In addition, you can view your patron record in TrinCat to see what books you have checked out and when they are due. You can renew your books online from within the patron record.
