New Books & Media FAQs

How can I subscribe to a new books & media list?

If you use an RSS reader, you should be able to create a new feed using the URL from the new books & media list you want to subscribe too. See the RSS FAQs for more information on RSS technology.

To subscribe by email follow these steps:

1) Enter your email address in the box on the sidebar under the word "Subscribe."

2) You will be asked to enter a code that will appear on screen

3) A confirmation email will be sent to your account with link to click in order to confirm your subscription.

Please contact the reference desk if you are having problems subscribing.

How can I learn more about RSS technology?

See the RSS FAQs.

May I subscribe to more than one list?

Yes, you may subscribe to as many lists as you like.

Are these books located on the new book shelves in the front of the library?

Not all of these books are located on the new book shelves in the front of the library. Please look up the book in TrinCat to verify its location and that it is not already checked out. If it is checked out you may request it from another library through I-Share. For more information, see "Requesting Items from Other Libraries."

What gets included on the new books & media lists?

All unique titles added to the Rolfing collection should appear on one or more list. If we purchase an additional copy or a replacement copy of a title we have owned previously it will not be included.

How can I recommend a new title for the library to purchase?

To recommend a new title please contact the liaison in the appropriate field of study or email Rebekah Hall in Acquisitions at rhall@tiu.edu

Are the librarians who created this cool or what?

Of course they are. In fact they would love to hear what you think about this service and ways to make it better. Please email Matt Ostercamp at mosterca@tiu.edu or Rebecca Miller at rmiller@tiu.edu with your ideas.

What is a liaison?

Each academic department is assigned a librarian to act as a liaison with that department. This liaison works with the faculty to ensure that the library serves the students of that department. Consult the Departmental Liaisons List to find the liaison for your department.
