Unless otherwise noted, the following databases are available also from off-campus for TIU students, faculty, and staff. Ask for authorization numbers & passwords at the reference desk in Rolfing Library.

New Grove Dictionary of Music & Musicians - An online version of the print dictionary. Not available from off-campus.

ERIC 1966–current. Contains annotated references to educational materials issued in the monthly Resources in Education (RIE) and to journal articles issued in the monthly Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE). A good source for articles on "music education." Some full-text articles.

Academic Search Premier Full-text: 1975–current. Provides full- text for over 4,700 academic, social sciences, humanities, general science, education and multi-cultural journals. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for nearly 8,200 journals in the collection.

ECO 1995–current. An OCLC collection of scholarly journals. Covers numerous subjects, including education. Abstracts and full-text articles. Articles on music very limited.

Humanities Abstracts - Database contains citations covering diverse subject areas of the humanities from over 465 journals with indexing from 1984 to present and abstracts since 1994. Includes feature articles, book reviews, interviews, obituaries, bibliographies, original works of fiction (including dramas and poems), and reviews of plays and television and radio programs.

Wilson Select Plus 1994–current. Full text articles in science, humanities, education and business. Numerous articles can be found using these subject headings: music, musical, musicals, musician, musicians.

Music recordings are located in the Media Room in the northeast corner of the Library. Search TrinCat to find the call number. To limit your search to recordings, go to "Set Limits" and choose "Musical Recording" for the Primary Format.

Sheet Music & Musical Scores

Sheet music is located in the "M" section of the Main Collection in the lower level of the Library. Search TrinCat to find the call number. To limit your search to sheet music, go to "Set Limits" and choose "Music Score" for the Primary Format. 

Certification

Ref LB1771 .W6 (current edition)

Requirements for Certification of Teachers, Counselors, Librarians, Administrators for Elementary and Secondary Schools. Requirements for all fifty states, including reciprocity from state to state. For those in the Music/K-12 Major seeking a teaching certificate.
