"MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers" 6th Edition
Guide to Using Reference Types
Reference Type - describes the type of material you are citing. Examples include: book, journal, electronic journal, and dissertation.
When importing records from databases RefWorks will pick a reference type based on the information sent by the database (i.e. TrinCat, WorldCat, ATLA, etc.)
Generally RefWorks will pick either book, journal, or book chapter. If you are using a different Reference Type you will need to manually edit the Reference Type in the Citation Record.
To do this:
- Click on the word
in the Citation list. - Click on the down arrow next to "Ref Type."
- Choose a Reference Type from the list.
