Library Policies

Cell Phones

The use of cell phones is restricted to the foyer and entry area. Please put your phone on silent or vibrate when entering the library so as not to disturb other people.

Children

Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 at all times. The Rolfing Library is for the use of TIU students, staff, faculty, and research visitors, not a facility for children being home-schooled or tutored. The library assumes no liability for teenagers who are left alone in the library.

Closing Policy

At closing, all personal belongings left in the library will be placed in Lost and Found. Library materials will be reshelved.

Food and Drink

Food is not allowed in the library. Beverages must be in covered containers. No coffeemakers or hotplates are allowed in the library.

Laptops

Laptops may be used anywhere in the library. Please do not alter or borrow computer connections installed in the library or plug in laptops across aisles, which can easily be tripped on. We strongly encourage you to secure your laptop to a table or chair with a lock and chain at all times.

Personal Items

The Library is not responsible for personal items left unattended. If you plan to be away from the area where you left your belongings, you should take the items with you to prevent them from being stolen.

Pickup location

The library is not to be used as a place to leave items for pickup by someone else. The library staff assumes no responsibility for items left for others. This includes, but is not limited to, books, papers, backpacks, and laptop computers.
