WIRELESS PRINT FROM YOUR LAPTOP TO LIBRARY PRINTER
HOW TO INSTALL iPRINT CLIENT/LIBRARY PRINTER

To save time, consider bookmarking or cutting and pasting these instructions in word because the instructions will require a step where you will be forced to shutdown your browser and then navigate back to this page.

 Windows: iPrint Client Requirements

 ·         Web browser with JavaScript* enabled and  Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later OR Mozilla-based Web browser.

 ·         NOTE: The iPrint Client for Windows uses ActiveX* controls when using Internet Explorer. By default, Internet Explorer’s Run ActiveX Controls and Plug-ins are enabled. However, if this has been changed, you need to reenable it for iPrint to work correctly. This setting is found in Tools > Internet Options > Intranet > Custom Level. You need to enable the setting on the Internet page, if you are running across the Internet

Macintosh: iPrint Client Requirements

 ·         MacOS 10.2 or later and Firefox 1.0.x OR Safari Browser 1.2

 ·         NOTE:If the iPrint server is busy when your installed printer attempts to communicate, CUPS moves the printer into an error state and holds all print jobs. To release print jobs, use the printer management utility to restart the printer.

STEP 1: Navigate to http://tls.tiu.edu/ipp and select  Install iPrint Client. We recommend using Internet Explorer to download the client.

STEP 2:  Follow the instructions and close all your browser windows to that the new plug-in can be recognized.

STEP 3:  Reopen and navigate back to http://tls.tiu.edu/ipp and install the Library Patron printer.   Your browser will most likely say your client is NOT installed.  DO NOT REINSTALL BUT RATHER SELECT CANCEL.  The most important step is to make sure ActiveX for PC users is allowed .   At the top of your browser if you see the comments “This website wants to run the following add-on:….” Please select allow.  Then install your printer 'Library Patron.’

The library patron will now be a printer choice for your computer.

Trouble Shooting:

 1) If it does not print the first time please reboot.

 2) If it does not print correctly please select the print icon in your system tray and clear history and it will print.

 3) Need assistance?  During normal business hourse please a) Turn on your computer and have your machine ready in the student lounge.  b) Find Paul Stalnecker, Michael Peterson, or Hollie Hadjukovich to assist you.
