Position Summary

Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Deerfield, IL) is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty member to join the Counseling Department.


Primary teaching responsibilities are in counseling. Faculty members are responsible for the advising and mentoring of students, being active in the legislation of the school, committed to fostering the spiritual development of the student and contributing to the spiritual and communal environment of TEDS. In addition, a faculty member will show an investment in his/her professional discipline both within and without of TEDS.


The ideal candidate has an earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision (CES) and is willing to pursue to become a tenure track member of the faculty. The candidate should have strong research interests and skills, has obtained or is actively pursuing becoming a licensed clinical professional counselor.  In addition, the TEDS Counseling dept. is sensitive to matters of diversity within our student body, working to augment the current faculty demographics in a manner that reflects our diverse student body. Preference is made for the candidate who has an established career in research, scholarship and teaching in counselor education. Faculty members will give annual agreement with the Evangelical Free Church America (EFCA) statement of faith, articulating theological rational for any points of divergence from the EFCA statement of faith. Candidates with some theological seminary training in addition to the above qualifications are preferred.
