Trinity Endowed & Donor-Based Scholarships for All Programs

These awards are given to students based on criteria given by the donors. They do not require repayment.The deadline to apply for the Endowed & Donor-Based Scholarships is April 1.

The Chan Scholarship

This award is provided to a full-time Chinese or Chinese/American student preparing to minister to the Asian community either in the U.S. or abroad. Once a recipient has been chosen, it is intended that the student receive this scholarship until graduation. Please submit two letters of recommendation: one letter from a pastor and the other from a TEDS faculty member.

The EFCA International Mission Scholarship

An annual scholarship is presented to a candidate or prospective candidate with the EFCA International Mission who will continue his or her studies at TEDS. Scholarship applicants must obtain a letter from the EFCA International Mission confirming the applicant's candidacy. Please submit the letter to the Financial Aid Office by the April 1 deadline.

Melvin and Virginia Hendricks Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship is available to a returning student with substantial financial need who is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church Midwest district. Those who demonstrate a clear calling to church planting or missions will be given preference. Scholarship applicants must obtain a letter from the Evangelical Free Church Midwest District Superintendent confirming the applicant's affiliation. Please submit the letter to the Financial Aid Office by the April 1 deadline.

Norman Kendall International Ministry Loan/Scholarship

Norman Kendall was an estimator and draftsman for the U.S. Gypsum Co. in downtown Chicago. He was a layman in the church and for many years sponsored a junior-age Sunday night youth ministry. Many of those touched by his ministry, both students and helpers, have gone into ministry. This award is a loan/scholarship for students intending to serve with Conservative Baptist International (CBI). The maximum award is $2,000 per year, is renewable, and is awarded to an unlimited number of students each year. This is a loan/scholarship agreement: repayment begins after graduation or when the student enrolls in 5 or fewer credit hours in any one semester (summer sessions not included). Benjamin Y. S. Yeh Scholarship

This scholarship, established by the Benjamin Y. S. Yeh Foundation, is an award of $4,000 for one student. This student must be of good moral character and have a special vision for ministering to the Chinese people after graduation. Benjamin Yeh was a devout Christian who had a special heart for supporting the training of Chinese Christian leaders. To continue his legacy, his family members established this scholarship to support Chinese seminary students at Trinity who will minister to the Chinese population in the U.S. or abroad after graduation. Please write a half-page to one-page essay explaining why you are the best candidate for this scholarship, including any additional information that would be pertinent to your eligibility.

†All scholarships are determined by a committee and are based on the student's application, essay, recommendations, academic merit, other support already received, and financial need. No one factor may be solely determinative. Due to the competitive nature of these scholarships, some qualified applicants will be turned away or will receive less than expected.
