We are not just learning about counseling on an intellectual level; the program is really experience- oriented.

Flexible Delivery Formats

Trinity’s Master of Arts (Christian Studies) degree offers you the flexibility to design a program which can be tailored to your ministry needs and life situation. By taking advantage of Trinity’s flexible delivery formats, you can complete the entire degree in about 4-5 years, taking one or two courses per semester.

Church-Based Seminary Extension Sites

Trinity has seven church-based extensions locations spread throughout the Midwest and a satellite campus in Florida.

Akron, OHIndianapolis, IN
Chicago, ILMadison, WI
Cincinnati, OHMilwaukee, WI
Columbus, OHDavie, Fl

Work on your degree by taking weekend or weeknight classes. Classes at these sites generally meet for 3-5 weekends per semester or one evening a week, which enables you to take up to 93% of the MA (Christian Studies) at a location near you. One 3-credit-hour course has to be taken on campus to satisfy residency requirements.

Distance Education

Pursue graduate studies from anywhere in the world with Trinity's Distance Education (DE) courses. Each web-accessible course provides you with a guide through the printed material and/or audio lectures. Our online resources connect you with a Course Tutor and other students enrolled in the course, regardless of geographical location. When you register, join TriNET, our growing online learning, community.

Through DE you can complete 33% of the Master of Arts (Christian Studies) and up to 20% of other TEDS masters programs in your home at your own pace. DE provides MA (Christian Studies) core courses, as well as limited and free electives in all programs.

Campus Modular Courses or Summer Extension Classes

Seminary courses are offered in one-, two-, or three-week modular formats on Trinity’s main campus in Deerfield during the Summer, and also during the Fall and Spring semesters. Since all the MA (Christian Studies) core courses are offered on a two-year rotation, you can fulfill many of these courses and complete your three-hour campus residency requirement as well.

Many of our extension sites also offer summer elective courses in convenient modular and intensive formats.

Learn as you Minister

Three semesters of field education are required in your ministry context under the supervision of an approved field supervisor.

The MA (Christian Studies) program culminates in the writing of the Capstone Project, which helps you integrate what you have learned through the MA (Christian Studies) program with a relevant ministry or vocational issue of your choosing.
