Course Description

Focuses on interpersonal and small group conflicts that are interethnic or intercultural. Significant attention is given to how Westerners handle conflict compared to peoples of the Two-Thirds world and how Scripture speaks to both contexts. This is a doctoral seminar open to advanced students with permission of the instructor. Three hours.

ES 8255    Models of Nonformal Education

Course Description

Explores the literature related to out-of-school learning and experiential learning theories that inform the educational task of the church. Participants compare and contrast nonformal and formal educational approaches. Insights gained from these readings and class discussions are used by participants to critique various church-related models of nonformal education. This is a doctoral seminar open to advanced students with permission of the instructor. Three hours.
