As a student at TEDS, I’ve been able to draw on the experience of both my professors and fellow students.

Distance Education and Financial Aid

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Students charged the DE rate are not eligible for scholarship aid from the financial aid office (note that the DE rate is already approximately 50% less than the campus rate).
  • Students charged the regular Deerfield rate are eligible to apply for scholarship aid, provided they are accepted in a degree program.

Student Loan Eligibility

In order for students to receive federal loans student must meet the following requirements:

  • must be a degree seeking student (not visiting)
  • must be taking courses toward their degree
  • must be registered for at least 5 credit hours in the semester
  • must complete a FAFSA

Note the following:

  • A student may meet the 5 credit hours requirement in a semester by a combination of Deerfield and DE classes or in DE alone.
  • Loan eligibility is determined by a number of factors, including tuition charges.
  • In addition to completing the FAFSA, students should contact the Financial Aid Office regarding their desire for loans.
  • Any change in enrollment will affect a student’s loan eligibility. If a student reduces their course load below 5 hours, any loan money received will be returned.
