Felix Theonugraha serves as the Associate Dean of Students for the Divinity and Graduate Schools. Originally from the island of Java in the Indonesian archipelago, he was born into a pastor's family as Felix Tjoe before his parents changed their family name to Theonugraha, meaning, the grace of God. Together with his parents and younger brother, he moved to Taiwan in 1989 before immigrating to California in 1992.
Prior to Trinity, Felix graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a BA in Psychology and English. He was also actively involved with InterVarsity, leading dorm Bible studies for three years, as well as leading worship at his church.
Felix came to Trinity in the fall of 2002 to earn his Master of Divinity degree. During his studies, God continued to grow in him a passion for preaching, social justice, racial reconciliation, and pastoral identity formation. He was hired as the Associate Dean of Students in January 2006. He is excited to serve the Trinity community by working together with Dr. Greener and the Student Services staff.
Felix currently lives in Gurnee with his wife, Esther, and his two children, Isaiah and Nora. He enjoys the Fall season--the cool crisp air, the Yankee Candles burning in his home, the fragrance of the sumptuous crock pot meal, the weekly walk at the forest preserves, and of course, football.
