You need to register with the Records Office at the same time you're registering for your campus courses.
Stop by our office (we're in the Veenstra Wing of the Chapel, right next to the Dean’s Office), or call (847.317.6554) if you have any questions. I highly recommend you start by contacting us, but you may register online at TIU Access.
You need to have the course completed by the end of the semester, the last day of finals.
All Deerfield and Davie campus-based students must follow the guidelines published in the appropriate academic catalog under which they are enrolled. This normally involves the completion of an extension form followed by a conversation with the Dean of Students. All extensions approved by the Dean of Students are honored by the Distance Education office.
You will be billed by Student Accounting the normal Deerfield rate.
If you are in any program at Trinity and are taking at least 5 credit hours in a semester, you may be eligible for some forms of financial aid. Contact the Financial Aid office for more details (finaid@tiu.edu or 847.317.8060).
Yes, you will also need to purchase lecture materials (for the courses that require them) and some additional books. You can look at a course's syllabus to see what materials are required.
Yes!
Once you have registered for a course we will give you access to TriNet, our online learning community. Here you will have access to your course tutor, the Distance Education Office, and other students (past and present). On TriNet you will find a copy of your syllabus, discussion rooms, chat rooms, a place to submit your coursework as well as other important documents (depending on the particular class).
Simply go online to fill out a proctor arrangement form. There you will find the requirements for an adequate proctor. Upon receipt of your form (you submit it electronically), I will send the exams to your proctor with instructions. Alternatively, if you live close to the Deerfield campus, you may schedule a time to take the exam in the Distance Education office.
