Lois McKinney Douglas, PhD

Lois McKinney Douglas is professor emerita of mission at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. She has been at Trinity since 1990.

Prior to coming to Trinity, Dr. McKinney Douglas taught at Wheaton College Graduate School for eight years. She has served as a missionary for twenty-three years with the Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society. During her missionary service she taught at theological seminaries in Portugal and Brazil, and served internationally as a consultant to theological education programs.

Dr. McKinney Douglas received the Bachelor of Arts from Biola University, the Master of Religious education from Denver Seminary, and the Doctor of Philosophy in curriculum research and educational development from Michigan State University. She also studied at the Toronto Institute of Linguistics, the Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), the Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal), and Wheaton College Graduate School.

 

Dr. McKinney Douglas's areas of expertise include education and missions. She is a member of the American Educational Research Association; the Society for Intercultural Education, Training, and Research; the Association for Professors of Missions; and the American Society of Missiology. Dr. McKinney Douglas is also on the advisory councils of several evangelical organizations. She has published articles in Evangelical Missions Quarterly, The Journal of Christian Education, and Missiology Recently, she coedited With an Eye for the Future: Development and Mission in the 21st Century (essays in honor of Ted Ward).

 

Dr. McKinney Douglas currently resides in Deerfield, Illinois. She serves on the board of directors of her home church, Our Saviour Evangelical Free Church of Wheeling, Illinois.
