Joyce A. Shelton, PhD
Joyce A. Shelton is professor of biology, chair of the Health Sciences Department, and interim dean for the Graduate School and REACH. Prior to coming to Trinity in 1988, she was a research associate at Northwestern University.
Dr. Shelton received the Bachelor of Science in biology from New Mexico State University and the Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Science from the University of New Mexico's School of Medicine. She did post-doctoral research at Northwestern University prior to coming to Trinity.
Dr. Shelton's areas of expertise include immunology, reproductive biology, development biology, and microbiology. One of her interests is bioethics. She has a number of publications in these areas. Dr. Shelton is a member of the Association of Colleges in the Chicago Area, the National Association of Advisors for Health Care Professionals, and the Council for Undergraduate Research.
