Amy McCann, EdD 

Dr. Amy McCann is a reading specialist and teaches at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, as assistant professor of Education. She earned her BS at Northwestern University, her MA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her EdD at National-Louis University

Dr. McCann has been a consultant with ASCD for six years, has taught in rural, urban, and suburban settings, and is certified in seven areas, ranging from pre-K through the university level. She completed her doctorate at National-Louis University in Evanston, Illinois, and has taught at six Chicago-area universities. For three years, McCann was a member of National-Louis University's Goals 2000 Team, which provided staff development programs for three Chicago high schools under the direction of Donna Ogle. She worked as a reading specialist at Steinmetz High School in Chicago, where she designed and implemented a reading program that spanned the curriculum. Her administrative experience includes serving as assistant principal at the Chicago International School.
