Don Hedges, PhD

Don Hedges is director of the School of Music and associate professor of music at Trinity College, where he has served since 1999. Dr. Hedges earned the Bachelor of Science degree from Faith Baptist Bible College and the Master of Music and the Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the Indiana University School of Music.

Dr. Hedges teaches music theory and Christian worship courses at Trinity and directs music theater productions. His research interests include the development of aural understanding, text setting in the music of Bach, and the spiritual formation of worship leaders. Dr. Hedges has background and experience in vocal accompaniment/coaching, conducting, musical theater, and church music. He came to Trinity from Edmonton, Alberta, where he taught music theory at North American Baptist College and Christian worship at Edmonton Baptist Seminary.
