
The School of Education
The School of Education seeks to develop highly qualified Christian teachers who view teaching as a mission. They nurture their students, reflect critically on their practice, and facilitate classroom experiences to maximize the potential of all learners.
Our faculty focuses on three main areas of preparation: the personal, the professional, and the practical. While we believe that all three areas are important, our focus on the personal, relational aspects of education is our key distinctive, the core value which connects our educational philosophy to our Christian worldview, our emphasis on the community, and our commitment to diversity. The Initial Elementary School Certificate is valid for teaching in grades kindergarten through nine. The Initial High School Certificate is valid for teaching in grades 6 through 12. The Initial Specialist Certificate is valid for teaching in grades K through 12 in the area of specialty.
The following Teacher Education Programs at Trinity International University are approved and recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education:
- Traditional Undergraduate Programs
- Adult Undergraduate Programs (REACH to Teach)
- Master of Arts in Teaching
- Master of Education in Instructional Leadership
